Think of it this way, take all the traffic at rush hour on a freeway with 8 lanes, and send that traffic to a two lane road, one lane for each direction. What happens? Water pipes can’t expand to carry more water just like a two lane road can’t add six more lanes in a moment to handle increased traffic.
